Nuns and Nones
Many U.S. Catholic sisters find themselves in outsized homes and estates. Through the Nuns and Nones Land Justice Project, sisters are learning how to create new land legacies that center racial and ecological healing.
For the many sisters who have dedicated their lives to fighting injustice, engaging in protests and activism is a form of prayer in action that helps maintain a sense of hope amidst the often-slow pace of change. Some young activists are adopting those concepts, learning from their vast experiences.
For four years, Nuns and Nones has been cultivating an intergenerational community of women religious and spiritually curious millennials, taking on the existential questions now plaguing the rest of the world.
A weekslong e-course on community showed Katie Gordon that a hunger for authentic community transcended her millennial peers, affecting a spectrum of generations. Gordon and Benedictine Sr. Linda Romey led the course and spoke with GSR about what they learned.
