Transforming Sisters' Assets
Congregations of sisters own properties or buildings that are larger than they need or too expensive to keep. But resources exist that can help congregations discern the best future for their land and buildings.
Many U.S. Catholic sisters find themselves in outsized homes and estates. Through the Nuns and Nones Land Justice Project, sisters are learning how to create new land legacies that center racial and ecological healing.
Congregations across the U.S. are transforming their remaining assets, such as land and buildings. Some simply sell what they have, out of need. Others, like the Victory Nolls, are going further.
Though it seems as if there has been a flurry of activity and progress in recent months, the members of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters have been taking steps toward completion for several years.
