Teresia Njeri Mbugua belongs to the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood; she is from Kenya.  After her formation program in Tanzania she ministered as secretary and bursar in a congregational high school. Later, in the United States, she attended Assumption College in Mendham, New Jersey, and Marywood University, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where she graduated with an undergraduate degree in psychology and eventually a master's. After taking a formation program in Kenya, she moved to Tanzania to work in the International Novitiate in Arusha. Presently she ministers there and is taking online classes with Loyola University New Orleans.

Teaching about domestic violence in Tanzania

When a class required me to choose an important issue and then design a teaching project around it, I chose domestic violence. I find women struggling with this issue often in my counseling work because of its great prevalence in Tanzania.
