Mary Louise Stubbs is a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul who lives in Detroit, Michigan. She directs the community's International Project Services office, which responds to requests from Daughters of Charity sisters in low-resourced countries around the globe for funds to help their ministries. She works remotely as a member of the committee for water, sanitation and hygiene in health care facilities under the Vatican's Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. She is grateful for the opportunity to invite people to help relieve this critical situation.

In some parts of the world, the Catholic Church operates up to 50% of health care facilities, and not all of them have access to clean water essential for preventing infections and other negative, but preventable, outcomes.
