Joseph Spring, a Sister of Christian Charity, received an associate degree at Assumption College for Sisters in Denville, New Jersey, and a bachelor's degree in American studies from Marillac College in St. Louis.  After teaching and serving as principal in elementary schools in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida, she did graduate work at Seton Hall University. She served as assistant superintendent of schools in the Diocese of Paterson, New Jersey, before being elected to the Provincial Council of the Sisters of Christian Charity. She has ministered as president of Assumption College for Sisters since 2009.
