Ellen Dunn is a Dominican Sister of Peace. With degrees in modern languages, religious education and theology, she has been an adjunct faculty member in theology at Ohio Dominican College and Wheeling Jesuit University. She has also served as a parochial leader and as a member of the leadership team for her congregation. A founding member of Spirituality Network, she is also involved with Spiritual Directors International and her own Dominican Sisters International and Dominican Sisters Conference USA. For the past 11 years, she has been the Delegate for Consecrated Life for the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, West Virginia.

Religious women, wild and wonderful

Writing a story about the religious of "wild and wonderful West Virginia" is more challenging than ever in our current environment, but as I check in with sisters around the state, it's apparent that no one caved in and left their post or abandoned their works of service among the people.

Finding a way to be genuine equals

The issue is racism, and it's not just an American problem about black and white; it's about every color in the spectrum in between. We are all created by a loving God and we come in many beautiful shades of black and brown and white.
