Bernadette Mwavita is a member of the Ursuline Sisters, Congregation of Tildonk, Goma/Democratic Republic of Congo. Her first ministries were in education, as a teacher, deputy principal, and principal in Ursuline secondary schools in Goma. She also served as a coordinator of activities in a local nongovernmental organization dealing with the emergency education of abandoned children, illiteracy and community empowerment. Community ministries have included: direction of temporary professed sisters, counsellor on the Vice Provincial Leadership Team, and presently, assistant on the Congregational Leadership Team.

Ursulines minister amid volcano crisis in Goma

A volcano eruption has displaced hundreds of thousands living in Goma. As Ursulines of Tildonk who were ministering in the area, we are trying to meet with the displaced, to accompany them in their misery.
